Fiscal Sanity

The Obama Administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to government as a solution to all problems. The President regularly refers to tax dollars as “our” (meaning Washington’s) money. As a result, the Administration is incapable of addressing the weakness in our economy. Rather, the president adds burden upon burden to employers, big and small, and everyday citizens. We are told by the administration and the media that Americans want support for their health care, for their childrens' college education and for some unspecified "all manner" of other government programs for the middle class. I have lived in the middle class all of my life. Most of my friends and all of my neighbors live in the middle class. Neither I nor they spend our waking hours dwelling on help that we can obtain from the government. What we in the middle class want is a growing economy that provides an environment where those willing to work can find not only job security, but a path to career advancement as well. What we in the middle class want is a reduction in taxes so that as we grow older and advance we are not having to run twice as fast to keep up with increasing marginal tax rates. What we in the middle class want is less government, not more.
